Domaine Joseph Drouhin

Maison Joseph Drouhin is headquartered in Beaune, but the family estate spans many appellations in the Burgundy region. Some plots owned by the House are legendary, such as Clos des Mouches, Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot or Corton-Charlemagne. The trading house itself was created by Joseph Drouhin, a young man from Chablis, in 1880. It was his son Maurice who endowed the House with his own wine estate. He will also create the House's oenology laboratory, with Laurence Jobard, the first woman oenologist in Burgundy. Today the Joseph Drouhin house is one of the most prestigious in Burgundy and its flagship wine is Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Mouches. This house is now managed by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and by his brother Philippe for the vines. Since July 2013, she has opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its cruising speed and is establishing itself as a safe bet. The house is based on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well endowed with great whites, in Côte de Beaune but also in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon brand), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
