As an artist would compose a canvas from pigments of dozens of colors, Pierre Saillan develops each blend from cuvées drawn from around fifty micro-vintages, each harvested, vinified separately and then aged in French oak barrels of different intensities. of heating. This titanic work gives birth to a sublime cuvée, dominated by Cabernet Franc and completed, in varying quantities depending on the vintage, by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. This purple-colored blend reveals a wide range of aromas: notes of acacia flowers, blackcurrant and blackberry mingle with delight with a light woody note and a hint of mint. The palate, rich in black fruit flavors, is enhanced by sweet spices.
Vérité winery was born from the meeting of two men: Jess Jackson, founder of one of the most famous Californian estates (Kendall Jackson), and Pierre Seillan, from a family of Gascony winegrowers, who make wines in Bordeaux. and in Tuscany. Jess Jackson is convinced of the possibility of creating exceptional wines on the Sonoma terroir and Pierre Seillan, who realizes the potential of this region, agrees to create a domain there in 1997. There, he puts into practice the philosophy acquired after many years of experience, that of soil law, where the wine must express its terroir without hindrance, thanks to the development of micro-crus. To this end, he cultivates and vinifies around fifty micro-plots separately, spread over four appellations: Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Chalk Hill and Bennett Valley, planted only with Bordeaux grape varieties. These micro-crus are then carefully assembled, and constitute as many components allowing to make wines of incredible complexity. The estate is now run by his daughter Hélène, and offers a range of three exceptional wines: La Muse, la Joie and le Désir. Here is a wine intended for a long aging, from 30 to 40 years.
Under four appellations, Domaine Vérité operates more than 50 micro-crus that make up its La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir wines. Pierre Seillan harvests and ferments each micro-cru separately and then ages them in oak barrels before blending.
