After the challenges of the 2021 vintage, 2022 was a calm and easy year. Despite a minor hail scare in July, the weather was generally mild, with no major impact on the harvest.
With warm weather conditions, the grapes ripened rapidly, requiring extra vigilance when choosing the harvest date. Harvesting began on September 12, allowing us to capture the full aromatic and tannic potential of the grapes at their peak.

During vinification, magnificent aromas emerged from the vats. Despite moderate extraction, we had to work with precision to bring out the aromatic and structuring characteristics of the vintage. Aging on the lees was favored, requiring patience before bottling to find the perfect balance.
For the Messager-Germain family, the 2022 vintage lies between the characteristics of previous years. With the freshness of 2021 and the gourmandise of 2020, it offers precise balance and undeniable elegance, approaching the style of 2017 while retaining its own identity.
