Clos de Tart
Clos de Tart is a Burgundy treasure, nestling in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, in the commune of Morey Saint-Denis. Founded in 1141 by Cistercian nuns, this Grand Cru has never been divided up, preserving its unique monopoly status, now held by the Mommessin family since 1932. The vineyard, covering almost eight hectares, is cultivated organically (not certified) and using sustainable viticulture methods, with yields limited to 30 hl/ha. The average age of the vines is 50 years, guaranteeing wines of rare concentration. The wine is carefully matured in new barrels for 18 to 24 months, adding structure and finesse. Thanks to Sylvain Pitiot, estate manager from 1995 to 2015, Clos de Tart has established itself as one of Burgundy's finest wines, renowned for its depth, balance and exceptional ageing potential.
