Domaine Eric Morgat
Domaine Éric Morgat is the expression of a unique know-how and a singular vision of Chenin in Anjou. Born into a family of Anjou winegrowers, Éric Morgat decided in 1995, aged just 25, to set up his own domaine. He embarked on a bold adventure, rehabilitating wasteland and abandoned terroirs to create a 6-hectare vineyard, planted exclusively with chenin.
Going against the grain of modern trends in plot-based cuvées, Éric Morgat makes a wine from four carefully selected schist terroirs. The grapes from each parcel are vinified and aged separately in Burgundy rooms, expressing the richness and uniqueness of each terroir.
The estate's Savennières reveals intense aromas of ripe fruit such as apple, pineapple and citrus, combined with floral notes of acacia and a minerality reminiscent of gunflint. On the palate, this is a wine of remarkable purity, precise tension and impressive density. The exceptionally long finish confirms the greatness of this Savennières, a true jewel of the estate.
Ideal for lovers of complex, elegant white wines, Domaine Éric Morgat is an essential reference in the Anjou region.
