Château Montrose

Château Montrose, emblem of Saint-Estèphe and Second Grand Cru Classé since 1855, is one of the Médoc's greatest names. Its 95-hectare vineyard, ideally situated on the banks of the Gironde, benefits from a temperate microclimate and gravelly terraces that ensure natural drainage and harmonious ripening of the grapes. The wines are made with exemplary rigour: precision viticulture, micro-parcel vinification and ageing in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new. The grape varieties, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, produce wines of great depth, power, structure and ageing potential. The Grand Vin comes exclusively from Terrasse 4, the historic heart of the estate and the Cabernet Sauvignon's preferred terroir. Committed to a sustainable approach, Montrose is anticipating climate change through its ‘Montrose 2070’ project, combining innovation and respect for the environment.
