Louis Roederer

Here is one of the most beautiful standard bearers in Champagne. This family house is based on a vineyard of 420 plots, mostly Pinot Noir and 70% classified as Grand Cru. Viticulture is a real priority here, in particular via the current transition to biodynamics. Soil work is becoming more widespread. Only such an exceptional vineyard explains the level of harmony and unique concentration on such large volumes. It is no coincidence that the cellar master, Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, is an oenologist but also an agronomist, just like Jean-Claude Rouzaud, who built the current empire of the great international Roederer vineyards. In good understanding, he entrusted the reins of the group early on to his son, Frédéric Rouzaud, current president. Here the malolactic fermentations are only partial and random (between 25% and 50%). The juices are worked on lees in vats and in oak casks to give them thickness. The entire range is of excellence and consistency unique to this volume of production.
