Domaine Ogier's Côte-Rôtie “La Belle Hélène” is a veritable nugget of the Côte-Rôtie vineyard. Created by Michel and Stéphane Ogier, this parcel-based micro-cuvée comes from the vines of the “Rozier” plot, located above “La Landonne” on the Côte Brune. This parcel, so steep that only a horse can work the soil, is planted with vines over 70 years old, cultivated using integrated farming methods.
This prestigious wine has contributed to the international renown of Domaine Ogier, not least thanks to a perfect score of 100/100 by the famous critic Robert Parker. A rare honor that places “La Belle Hélène” among the great wines of the Rhône Valley.
Its careful ageing for over 30 months in new barrels gives it impressive complexity and ageing potential. Its deep red color with purplish highlights immediately catches the eye. The nose is an invitation to travel, with intense floral aromas mingling with spicy, peppery power.
On the palate, “La Belle Hélène” offers a veritable festival of flavors.
