Served at the table of King Charles II of England in 1660, Château Haut-Brion has continued to write history ever since. The blend is composed of 45% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc with a touch of Petit Verdot. The harvest is of course carried out manually and several selections of the grapes are made throughout the process. The limited yields and a long and careful aging of 22 months in completely new barrels help to produce this magnificent wine. Earlier than the other grands crus, Haut Brion develops velvety notes of ripe blackcurrant and mineral with legendary finesse. In great vintages, it is perfectly capable of aging for several decades.
