This Pommard "Les Grands Epenots" has a deep ruby colour and a delicate nose of faded rose petals. On the palate, it reveals a range of vegetal, spicy and minty aromas, underpinned by a silky texture and a refreshing, saline finish.
Plunge into the heart of the Côte de Beaune with Pommard "Les Grands Epenots" from Domaine Pierre Girardin. This emblematic wine, made from plots on the edge of Beaune, embodies the very essence of the Pommard appellation. Powerful and elegant, it seduces with its aromatic complexity, silky texture and saline character, offering an unforgettable taste experience for lovers of great wines. The vines are planted on clay-limestone soil, dark in colour due to the presence of red iron. This geological feature gives the wine its characteristic structure and depth.
The grapes are harvested by hand, using whole bunches to preserve the integrity of the berries. The wine is then matured for 12 months in oak barrels, followed by 4 months in stainless steel vats. With no fining or filtration and 30% new barrels, this winemaking method brings out the richness and complexity of the terroir.
