Domaine des Lambrays

This renowned property owns almost all of the Grand Cru Clos des Lambrays, from which it produces exceptional wines. Without being claimed, the viticulture here is fundamentally organic, with a large part of the vineyard worked by horse. Young vines as well as the less successful vintages are systematically downgraded to Morey-Saint-Denis premier cru (cuvée Les Loups). The estate is in favor of an early harvest, but with a strict sorting; the vinification is generally carried out as a whole harvest. The estate also has two beautiful plots in Puligny, one in Cailleret, the other in Les Folatières, but whose wines do not reach the level of reds. The Arnault family (LVMH) bought the estate in April 2014. Succeeding Boris Champy, who himself had taken over from Thierry Brouin, Jacques Devauges arrived in spring 2019, having left Clos de Tart. He will work to further improve the wines, with more precise work on the plot, the transition to biodynamics and the renovation of the winery.
