Mathieu Deshautels

Domaine Mathieu Deshautels is the fruit of Mathieu's atypical and passionate career path. He began his studies in Beaune before travelling through the wine-growing regions of Burgundy and the Jura, as well as South Africa and Australia. Back in Champagne, at Mesnil-sur-Oger, he took over the family plots and transformed the estate by adopting organic and biodynamic farming practices. In his desire to respect nature, he relies on prolonged maturing on the lees and sulphur-free vinification to preserve the purity of the fruit. His first cuvée, ‘Premier Voyage’, made from 100% Chardonnay, comes from the terroirs of Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant. Vinified in oak barrels for 11 months, this cuvée, produced in 997 bottles, embodies the combination of technical rigour and the authenticity of the Champagne terroir. A true reflection of its expertise and love of the vine, Domaine Mathieu Deshautels offers Champagne lovers a unique sensory experience, combining tradition and innovation.
