Domaine François Confuron-Gindre

Domaine François Confuron-Gindre is a family-run business located in the heart of wine-growing Burgundy, in Vosne-Romanée. Covering around 11 hectares, the estate covers three emblematic villages: Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. For six generations, the Confuron family has devoted itself to winegrowing, cultivating mainly Pinot Noir, the region's noble grape variety, on clay-limestone soils typical of the great Burgundy wines.

The estate attaches particular importance to respect for the vine and the wine, adopting sustainable growing practices to preserve the environment and ensure the long-term future of the vineyard. Natural prophylactic methods, such as ploughing and trimming, are favoured to prevent disease, thus reducing the use of chemicals.

Vinification at the estate follows time-honoured traditions. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure optimum quality. The wines are matured in oak barrels, selected from different coopers and with different toast, for around 18 months. This long malolactic fermentation, helped by the natural coolness of the cellars, allows the wines to develop their aromatic complexity and structure. The wine is bottled on the estate, following the lunar cycles for optimum harmony.

Domaine François Confuron-Gindre produces a diverse range of red wines, reflecting the rich terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. The Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges appellations offer robust, full-bodied wines, while the Vosne-Romanée wines stand out for their finesse and elegance. The estate also offers cuvées in Bourgogne Chardonnay and Bourgogne Aligoté, illustrating their expertise in white wines.
