Domaine Danjou-Banessy

The Danjou-Banessy estate, located in Espira-de-l'Agly in the heart of Roussillon, is run by brothers Benoît and Sébastien Danjou. Heirs to a long family tradition, they now work a mosaic of old vines of Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, as well as local white grape varieties, on varied soils combining schist, marl and clay-limestone. The vineyard is cultivated biodynamically in order to preserve the natural balance of the soils and best express the uniqueness of each plot. In the cellar, the approach is as gentle as possible: indigenous yeasts, delicate extractions, very little sulphur, and long ageing periods that bring complexity and depth. The result is wines of great purity, combining finesse, freshness and intensity. From expressive and vibrant reds to taut and salty whites, each cuvée from the Danjou-Banessy estate accurately reflects the identity of Roussillon and appeals to wine lovers in search of emotion and authenticity.
