Domaine Laurent Roumier
Domaine Laurent Roumier traces its origins to the history of one of Chambolle-Musigny’s most iconic families. As the grandson of Georges Roumier, who founded the renowned family estate in 1924, Laurent Roumier continues a winemaking tradition deeply rooted in the Côte de Nuits.
After working alongside his brother for many years, Laurent Roumier established his own estate in 1991 with four hectares of vineyards under lease. Over the years, he has gradually expanded his vineyard, which now spans a dozen hectares, primarily across the terroirs of Chambolle-Musigny and neighboring appellations.
Committed to the traditional methods passed down by his father, Alain Roumier, he manages his vineyard with a philosophy that respects nature. The vines, with an average age of around 35 years, are cultivated without herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The harvest is carried out by hand to preserve the integrity of the grapes and ensure optimal quality at harvest.
In the cellar, Laurent Roumier favors traditional winemaking methods that highlight the purity of the fruit and the identity of the terroirs. The estate’s wines are distinguished by their finesse, balance, and aromatic depth. The Chambolle-Musigny wines express all the elegance of Burgundian Pinot Noir, with delicate aromas of red fruit, flowers, and spices.
Today, Domaine Laurent Roumier remains a sought-after destination for connoisseurs of fine Burgundy wines seeking authentic vintages produced in accordance with tradition and the terroir.
