Dom Perignon

This Champagne house is named after the legendary monk Dom Pérignon, who lived in the 17th century. Legendary, because if its existence is well proven, its participation in the "invention of champagne" remains questionable. According to the most common history, the monk of the Abbey of Hautvillers developed the Champagne method. The first champagne cuvée which bears the name of Dom Pérignon was produced in 1921. Today owned by the LVMH group through Moët and Chandon, the brand is added to the impressive portfolio of a group which also owns Ruinart, Mercier or even Krug champagne. The grapes that make up Dom Pérignon wines come from Grands Crus and Hautvillers Premier Cru, considered to be the birthplace of champagne. Its emblematic cuvée is Brut Dom Pérignon blanc. On January 1, 2019, after twenty-nine years at the head of the most prestigious champagne house, Richard Geoffroy gave way to his second, Vincent Chaperon, who will be in charge of keeping the legend alive. A unique style, an impressive regularity and volumes that allow a very wide worldwide distribution, "Dom Pé" is more than a simple brand of champagne: an emblem of French luxury and a formidable powerhouse for the entire region. Whether or not you are a fan of its recognizable taste, with its delicate buttery and toasted notes, Dom Pérignon remains an essential reference.
