Domaine Hubert Lignier

Following the death of his father, Laurent Ligner took over the reins of the family estate in 2006, the famous Hubert Lignier estate. The estate located in Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy on the Cote de Nuit covers 11 hectares of vines. The estate has been certified organic since the 2019 vintage and uses biodynamics on 6 plots of 2.5 hectares. The estate's vines are on average 50 years old

As you will have understood, agriculture and the management of the vines is very important for the Ligner family, which aims for an exceptional quality of grapes in order to produce wines that are just as exceptional. The harvest is done by hand, with strict sorting and therefore at the end of very low yield. Each cluster of grapes is a real nugget! As Laurent Ligner himself says "75% of the quality of wine depends on the quality of the vine"

On the vinification side, the estate is not very interventionist insofar as it avoids introducing inputs, the wines are neither fined nor filtered. As for the vintages, they are made up of a third of whole bunches in order to bring a certain freshness to the wine. The aging is very long, around 21 to 22 months on the lees. The wines produced by the Hubert Ligner estate can be kept in the cellar for a very long time.

If you don't know the Hubert Lignier estate yet, go for it, you won't be disappointed!
