This village appellation comes from a parcel of vines located quite close to the ‘Maltroie’. This is one of the highest plots, adjacent to the village, which is not a 1er cru.
The vines are on average 50 years old. They are planted on rich, oily soil and have a fairly low yield.
The domain produced 1088 bottles and 24 magnums in the 2022 vintage.
The wines of the Coffinet-Duvernay domain are vinified in a very traditional way, but with a ‘modern’ concentration. The wines are wonderfully generous, fresh and lively, with great ageing potential. The domain's watchword is to intervene as little as possible and let the wine make itself, which is why malolactic fermentation is not prevented, bringing fatness and opulence to this wine.
