Domaine Bruno Colin's Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from a 0.80 hectare plot, planted in 1981, 2021 and 2023, on clay-limestone soil that is ideal for Chardonnay. The estate cultivates its vines organically, working the soil mechanically and ploughing regularly, demonstrating its deep respect for the environment. The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted in the vineyard to ensure optimum selection.
The wine is matured for 12 months in 350-litre barrels, 15-20% of which are new, followed by 4-6 months in vats before bottling. This process gives the wine aromatic complexity and balanced structure.
On tasting, this Bourgogne Chardonnay has a pure, brilliant colour with light green highlights. The nose is very fresh and straightforward, with lovely aromas of white fruit such as pear and apple. On the palate, the attack is round, revealing a fine minerality and a vigorous finish. This balance between freshness and roundness makes this wine particularly attractive and complete for its appellation.
This Bourgogne Chardonnay goes perfectly with seafood, grilled fish or soft cheeses. It can be enjoyed now or after a few years' cellaring to develop further complexity.
