Perry Colin’s Johan Vineyard Chardonnay comes from an iconic vineyard in the Willamette Valley, renowned for the finesse and precision of its Chardonnays. Crafted with a minimalist approach that respects the terroir, this wine expresses the full depth of the climate and soils of the Johan Vineyard.
Upon opening, the nose is deliberately understated, marked by an elegant reduction that takes time to fully reveal itself. After aeration, the wine unveils magnificent notes of stone fruit, honeysuckle, and fresh citrus. The aromatic complexity gradually gains intensity.
On the palate, this Chardonnay offers beautiful density while maintaining plenty of tension. Flavors of white peach, ripe lemon, and yellow fruit linger into a long, refined finish. Aging in large barrels adds texture and depth without masking the terroir’s identity.
Still very young, the Johan Vineyard Chardonnay has significant aging potential. It will appeal to lovers of crisp, mineral-driven white wines capable of evolving beautifully over time.
