The Domaine des Tours Réserve Merlot-Syrah is an exclusive cuvée created by Emmanuel Reynaud. The blend of Merlot and Syrah produces a generous, deep and particularly seductive red wine. Characterised by aromas of ripe black fruits, spices and garrigue, this Rhône Valley wine combines richness, freshness and elegance in a unique style that has become emblematic of Domaine des Tours.
The Domaine des Tours Réserve Merlot-Syrah is one of the most original cuvées produced by Emmanuel Reynaud. Produced in limited quantities in Sarrians, in the heart of the southern Rhône, it perfectly illustrates the stylistic freedom and pursuit of balance that characterise the wines of Domaine des Tours.
This cuvée combines two complementary grape varieties. Merlot brings roundness, richness and aromatic depth, whilst Syrah enhances the wine’s structure, freshness and depth. This marriage gives rise to a unique expression, distinct from traditional Rhône Valley blends, whilst retaining the identity and elegance characteristic of Emmanuel Reynaud’s wines.
On tasting, the bouquet opens with generous aromas of blackberry, black cherry, plum and blackcurrant. As the wine breathes, notes of black pepper, liquorice, violet and garrigue gradually emerge, adding complexity and refinement.
On the palate, it captivates with its velvety texture and remarkable balance. The richness of the fruit is underpinned by a fresh structure and silky tannins that extend the tasting experience with elegance. Despite its natural concentration, the wine retains great fluidity and remarkable drinkability – the hallmark of Domaine des Tours’ cuvées.
Ready to drink in its early years yet capable of aging well in the cellar, the Domaine des Tours Réserve Merlot-Syrah offers an original and particularly appealing interpretation of the Sarrians terroirs. A rare cuvée, sought after by fans of Emmanuel Reynaud’s wines for its character, balance, and authenticity.
The Domaine des Tours, managed by Emmanuel Reynaud who succeeded his uncle, produces red and white Vaucluse wines.
