The Lavaux St Jacques parcel is located in the northern part of the village of Gevrey, just before the combe. The origin of this climat's name comes from "La Val", which in the Middle Ages referred to a depression in the relief, a topographical hollow. Along with "Les Cazetiers" and "Clos Saint-Jacques", this climat is considered to be one of the 3 best Premiers Crus in Gevrey.
