Domaine Jean-Claude et Romain Bessin

The Jean-Claude and Romain Bessin estate is one of those estates that is still discreet but will not remain so for long given the quality of the wines produced by the estate. Based in Chablis, the Bessin family owns 12 hectares of vines scattered over several appellations in the region, such as Chablis 1er cru Montmains and the famous grand cru Valmur.

Jean-Claude vinified his first vintage in 1992 and has since continued to progress to become a big name in the Chablis region today. The arrival of Romain, the son of Jean-Claude, greatly contributed to the upmarket development of the estate. He applies the principles of biodynamics, which has allowed him to produce finer wines that respect the environment.

The establishment of aging on lees has also made it possible to sublimate their wines by gaining flesh, density and depth while keeping the typical minerality of the Chablis terroir.
