Domaine Fourrier

Domaine Fourrier, based in Gevrey-Chambertin, was founded in 1930 by Fernand Pernot. Today, Jean-Marie Fourrier, the third generation of winemakers, runs the domaine with his sister Isabelle and wife Vicki. Trained by such masters as Henri Jayer and Joseph Drouhin, Jean-Marie has elevated the domaine to the pinnacle of the Côte de Nuits.

The estate extends over 9 hectares, covering the prestigious appellations of Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Vougeot. Production is divided into two categories: wines from the estate's own vineyards and wines for the trade, both of which are of impeccable quality.

Jean-Marie Fourrier's viticulture respects the terroir, with no use of weedkillers, chemical fertilizers or fungicides. The vines benefit from massal selection and precise winter pruning, with no green harvesting. When fully ripe, the grapes are rigorously sorted.

In the cellar, blending is meticulous and extractions are gentle, with very little sulfur. The use of new barrels is limited to 20%, and malolactic fermentation takes place naturally. Aging lasts around 18 months in barrel.

Domaine Fourrier wines are characterized by exceptional purity of fruit, without excessive extraction or dominant oakiness. They are balanced, elegant and rich, with satiny tannins and remarkable length. Each bottle reflects the unique terroir of the Côte de Nuits, offering an unforgettable tasting experience for lovers of great Burgundy wines.
