Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier

In 1924, George Roumier inherited a few plots of vines, it was the birth of a large renowned estate in Burgundy. Subsequently, in 1982, the estate was taken over by the talented Christophe Roumier. The estate is located in the commune of Chambolle-Musigny, on the Cote de Nuit, known throughout the world for the quality of these great red wines, 100% pinot noir.

Currently the estate extends over nearly 12 hectares including five grand crus. We find the famous Corton Charlemagne, Musigny, Bonnes Mares, Charmes-Chambertin and Ruchottes-Chambertin. The vines are cultivated in an ecological way, without any chemicals, but the estate does not wish to have organic certification. As for the harvest, it is manual, the grapes undergo meticulous sorting and are partially destemmed before leaving for vinification. Subsequently, the wine is aged between 15 and 18 months in barrels.

The long work carried out in the vineyards and in the winery translates into the bottle! The wines produced by the Roumier family are racy, delicate and complex. A real nectar that is deserved.
