Domaine Bruno Colin’s Chassagne-Montrachet embodies all the richness and elegance of Burgundian Chardonnay. Crafted from grapes grown in several organically farmed vineyards on clay-limestone soils, this white wine captivates with its fruity and generous profile. Aromas of peach, apricot, and mirabelle plum accompany a round, full-bodied, and delicately balanced palate, accessible even in its youth.
Domaine Bruno Colin’s Chassagne-Montrachet is a blend of grapes from ten iconic vineyards within the appellation, including Les Chênes, Les Benoites, La Platière, La Canotte, and En L’Ormeau. Spanning approximately two hectares, these plots rest on clay-limestone soils particularly conducive to the expression of Chardonnay and offer a true reflection of the diversity of Chassagne-Montrachet’s terroirs.
Cultivated using organic farming methods, the vineyard benefits from mechanical soil cultivation and regular plowing aimed at preserving the vines’ natural balance and the vitality of the terroirs. The vines, planted between 1985 and 2024, provide a subtle balance between energy, depth, and aromatic complexity. The grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted directly in the vineyard to preserve their full purity.
Aging takes place for twelve months in 350-liter barrels, with approximately 15% new oak, and continues for several months in tanks before bottling to refine the wine’s balance.
On the palate, this Chassagne-Montrachet reveals a brilliant color and an expressive nose dominated by ripe yellow fruits. Notes of peach, apricot, and mirabelle plum unfold on a round, full-bodied, and generous palate, supported by a beautiful texture and balancing freshness. Rich and harmonious, this great Burgundy white wine is particularly appealing even in its early years.
