The Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru ‘Les Damodes’ from Domaine Boigey Frères comes from a 0.68 hectare parcel located on the border between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée, on a terroir of particularly draining sandy and stony soils. The Pinot Noir vines, which are around 40 years old, benefit from an ideal environment for producing concentrated wines with a deep colour and expressive aromas.
This Premier Cru is matured for 15 to 16 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new, giving it a silky structure and aromatic complexity without excessive oakiness. On the palate, this Nuits-Saint-Georges surprises with its freshness, vitality and saline touch, the signature of the estate. It combines the richness of a great Pinot Noir with the finesse of an exceptional terroir, offering a profile closer to a Vosne-Romanée than to the usual rusticity of the appellation.
This wine can be drunk young for its freshness, but will reveal all its complexity after a few years in the cellar. Confidential production of just 1,700 bottles a year.
Domaine Boigey Frères is a young family-run estate in Burgundy founded in 2017 by Olivier and Guillaume Boigey, representatives of the fourth generation of winegrowers. Located in Vosne-Romanée, the estate cultivates its vines without chemicals and favours organic viticulture that respects the soil. The wines, precise and elegant, accurately express the purity of the Côte de Nuits terroirs.
