This beautiful bottle of 1er cru red wine comes from the "Les Damodes" plot located on the border between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The pinot noir vines that are planted there are on average 40 years old, and are on very draining soil, composed mainly of sand and pebbles. This geological typicality is reflected in the bottle with a much more concentrated and colorful wine than its neighbours. The Boigey Frères estate produced only 1,700 bottles of this nectar in 2020.

Description
This beautiful bottle of 1er cru red wine comes from the "Les Damodes" plot located on the border between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The pinot noir vines that are planted there are on average 40 years old, and are on very draining soil, composed mainly of sand and pebbles. This geological typicality is reflected in the bottle with a much more concentrated and colorful wine than its neighbours. The Boigey Frères estate produced only 1,700 bottles of this nectar in 2020.
The grapes are harvested manually, the bunches are 100% de-stemmed and undergo cold pre-fermentation maceration between 7 and 9 days before being aged for 16 months in oak barrels, with 30% new barrels. Fermentation is natural, no product or yeast is added. The resulting wine has a magnificent fruity aroma, on the red fruit. On the palate, due to its geographical location, we find more the usual suppleness of Vosne-Romanée than the hardness of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The wine has a nice structure, the tannins are silky and supple.
We advise you to keep this bottle for a minimum of 3 years and ideally for ten years so that this nugget expresses its full potential.
The domain
Domaine Boigey Frères
The estate is located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, just a few meters from the emblematic Domaine de la Romanée Conti and is made up of 3.15 hectares of vines spread over the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Echezeaux. The estate is currently made up of two village appellations, three 1er crus and a grand cru, including the famous Vosne-Romanée “Aux Jachées”, from vines planted just behind Bizot. Currently the estate produces only red wines but parcels of chardonnay are being planted.
