The Vosne-Romanée 1er cru “Les Suchots” from the Boigey estate comes from one of the most prestigious climats in the Vosne-Romanée appellation, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. The plot benefits from a predominantly east-facing exposure, ideal for slow and even ripening of the Pinot Noir grapes, while retaining a beautiful natural freshness. The sandy-clay soil, typical of Les Suchots, offers an excellent balance between drainage and water reserves, promoting the refined expression of the terroir.
Domaine Boigey cultivates approximately 0.68 hectares of this premier cru, with vines over 40 years old. These deep roots produce concentrated grapes that are precise and rich in aromatic nuances. Aging for 15 to 16 months in oak barrels, about 30% of which are new, accompanies the wine without masking the fruit.
On tasting, the Vosne-Romanée “Les Suchots” Premier Cru reveals a complex palette of ripe red fruits, delicate spices, and floral notes. The palate is full-bodied, elegant, and silky, carried by a beautiful tension and a long finish. This exceptional wine can be enjoyed after a few years of aging and will reach its peak between 4 and 10 years, or even longer under good storage conditions.
