Description

Domaine Dureuil-Janthial's Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru ‘Les Champs Gains’ is a prestigious cuvée made from Chardonnay vines planted in 1974 on a plot of 19 ares 53 centiares. This climat, located in the centre of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation, lies at the top of the Premier Cru hillside, above Les Folatières, facing east. This cool terroir requires particular attention to be paid to the date of harvest to ensure optimum ripeness of the grapes. The clay-limestone soil contributes to the wine's complexity and minerality.

Traditional vinification includes hand-picking, direct pressing without crushing, followed by 48 hours of static settling. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels, 20% of which are new and come exclusively from the Chassin cooperage. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels, then 6 months in stainless steel vats, with bottling following the lunar calendar.

This wine stands out for its purity and crystalline character, offering remarkable tension and minerality. It goes perfectly with noble fish or finely prepared white meats.
