Domaine Bruno Colin’s Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie comes from a vineyard located in the “Ez Crets” cru, at the heart of the iconic clay-limestone terroir of Chassagne-Montrachet. The vines, planted between 1952 and 2023, benefit from rigorous organic cultivation, where mechanical soil work and plowing promote a faithful expression of the terroir.
The grapes are harvested by hand with meticulous sorting directly in the vineyards to ensure optimal ripeness and precision. The wine is aged for twelve months in 350-liter barrels, approximately 15% of which are new oak, followed by several months in tanks to preserve balance and complexity.
On the palate, La Maltroie displays a full-bodied and generous style. The nose reveals aromas of candied citrus, ripe peach, pear, toasted almonds, and delicate floral notes. The palate captivates with its controlled richness, savory texture, and precision. Structured and harmonious, this premier cru offers a long, subtly spicy finish and excellent aging potential.

The estate has 9 hectares of vines - 3 hectares of reds (100% Pinot Noir) and 6 hectares of whites (96% Chardonnay, 4% Aligoté). The estate offers 22 appellations, including 14 Premiers Crus and 2 Grands Crus, reflecting the pure expression of Burgundy terroirs through meticulous viticulture and controlled ageing.
