Description
The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées from Domaine Bruno Colin expresses all the finesse of a lesser-known terroir located above the Les Vergers vineyard, on the border of Saint-Aubin. This premier cru, whose name refers to former plots of land left fallow, is planted on a clay-limestone terroir perfectly suited to the expression of Chardonnay.
Cultivated using organic farming methods, with mechanical soil cultivation and plowing, the vineyard features vines planted in 1956, 1988, and 2003. The harvest is carried out by hand with rigorous sorting directly in the vineyard to preserve the fruit’s full purity.
Aging, carried out for twelve months in 350-liter barrels with approximately 15% new oak, followed by finishing in tanks, brings balance and precision without masking the terroir’s identity.
On the palate, Les Chaumées captivates with its floral and citrus notes. Notes of fresh citrus, white flowers, and white-fleshed fruits are accompanied by a full-bodied, dynamic, and perfectly balanced palate. The salty, lingering finish highlights the freshness and elegance of this Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru from Bruno Colin.

Founded in 2004 by Bruno Colin in Chassagne-Montrachet, the Bruno Colin estate embodies the perfect blend of tradition and modernity in Burgundy. The estate has 9 hectares of vines - 3 hectares of reds (100% Pinot Noir) and 6 hectares of whites (96% Chardonnay, 4% Aligoté). The estate offers 22 appellations, including 14 Premiers Crus and 2 Grands Crus, reflecting the pure expression of Burgundy terroirs through meticulous viticulture and controlled ageing.
