The Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir from the Boigey Frères estate comes from two plots located below the commune of Vosne-Romanée, in a renowned area of the Côte de Nuits. Planted at low altitude and benefiting from favorable exposure, these vines produce grapes of uniform ripeness, while retaining a beautiful natural freshness.
The clay-limestone soils ensure optimal drainage and contribute fully to the expression of a precise and balanced Pinot Noir. The estate cultivates two distinct plots: “La Croix Blanche” covering 31 acres and “Roger” covering 68 acres. This limited surface area allows for rigorous plot work and constant attention to each vine.
The vines, which are 40 years old on average, grow deep into the soil, bringing aromatic complexity and consistency to the wine. After harvesting, the Bourgogne Rouge from the Boigey estate is aged for 10 to 12 months in oak barrels, with around 20% new wood, in order to preserve the expression of the fruit and the finesse of the terroir.
On tasting, the wine reveals aromas of fresh red fruit, a juicy and delicate palate, supported by supple tannins and a slight salinity characteristic of the estate's style. Accessible in its youth, this Burgundy Red can also evolve harmoniously for 3 to 6 years in the cellar, gaining in complexity and balance.
