Description

The Côte-Rôtie ‘La Landonne’ from the René Rostaing estate comes from an iconic plot located on the Côte Brune, renowned for its dark soils rich in schist and iron oxides. This terroir gives the Syrah remarkable intensity and depth, making La Landonne one of the greatest climats in the northern Rhône Valley.

The vines, some of which are several decades old, are cultivated with extreme care in order to preserve the identity of the terroir. Yields are deliberately low and the grapes are harvested at perfect maturity. Vinification is precise, with controlled extraction, followed by long ageing in oak barrels, which structures the wine without masking its expression.

On tasting, the wine impresses with its density and aromatic complexity: ripe black fruits, violet, pepper, graphite and smoky notes. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, carried by deep tannins and great persistence. This Côte-Rôtie La Landonne is an exceptional wine for ageing, promising a majestic evolution over several decades.
