The Côte-Rôtie ‘Côte Blonde’ from the René Rostaing estate embodies the elegance and finesse of this historic terroir. Made mainly from Syrah, complemented by a touch of Viognier, this wine seduces with its floral bouquet, red fruit aromas and silky texture. A racy, delicate and perfectly balanced cuvée.
The Côte-Rôtie ‘Côte Blonde’ from the René Rostaing estate is made from plots located on the lightest and sandiest part of the appellation. The granite and schist soils, combined with ideal exposure, promote gradual ripening of the grapes and produce wines of great elegance.
The Syrah is sometimes complemented by a small proportion of Viognier, adding aromatic finesse and floral complexity. The work in the vineyard is rigorous, with controlled yields and manual harvesting. The vinification process favours gentle extraction in order to preserve the purity of the fruit, followed by careful ageing in oak barrels.
On tasting, this cuvée is distinguished by a subtle nose of red fruits, flowers, sweet spices and slightly smoky notes. The palate is silky, elegant and very fresh, with fine tannins and good length. This Côte-Rôtie Côte Blonde is more accessible when young than the Côte Brune cuvées, while still offering real ageing potential.
