Description

The Côte-Rôtie ‘Côte Brune’ from the René Rostaing estate comes from plots located in the most austere and mineral part of the appellation. The soils, rich in dark schist and iron oxides, give the wines a powerful structure and remarkable depth, the hallmark of great Côte-Rôtie wines for ageing.

The vines are meticulously tended, producing low yields that guarantee optimal concentration. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with great respect for the fruit, seeking gradual extraction. Ageing in oak barrels refines the tannins and reveals the wine's aromatic complexity.

On tasting, the wine offers an intense nose combining black fruits, spices, pepper, liquorice and smoky notes. The palate is dense and structured, supported by powerful but perfectly ripe tannins. This Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune has excellent ageing potential and reveals its full potential after several years in the cellar, offering a deep and noble interpretation of Rhône Syrah.
