Description

Domaine Bruno Colin’s Saint-Aubin Le Charmois elegantly captures the full character of Saint-Aubin’s great terroirs. Hailing from a small, exclusive 0.17-hectare plot planted in 1959, this Chardonnay is grown on clay-limestone soil that is particularly conducive to the freshness and aromatic precision that define Burgundy’s finest white wines.

Cultivated using organic farming methods, the vineyard benefits from mechanical soil cultivation and plowing aimed at preserving the terroir’s natural balance and the vines’ vitality. The grapes are harvested by hand with rigorous sorting directly in the vineyard to preserve optimal fruit quality and a faithful expression of the vintage.

Aging takes place for twelve months in 350-liter barrels, with approximately 15% new oak, followed by several months of refinement in tanks to harmonize texture, freshness, and precision.

On the palate, Le Charmois reveals an elegant and delicately refined profile. The nose opens with citrus notes, white flowers, and hints of linden. The palate, full-bodied and balanced, combines roundness, minerality, and tension, supported by precise acidity that carries the wine toward a long, briny finish. A refined, luminous Saint-Aubin that is particularly appealing in its youth while offering excellent aging potential.
