With only 1,500 bottles produced, it is a refined expression of the Vosne-Romanée terroir.
The Vosne-Romanée ‘Aux Jachées’ from Domaine Boigey Frères is a confidential cuvée from a 0.27 hectare parcel planted with 40-year-old Pinot Noir on sandy-clay soil. Located in Vosne-Romanée, this plot is shared with the Jean-Yves Bizot estate, which owns half of it.
The grapes are harvested by hand and completely destemmed. A pre-fermentation cold maceration lasting 7 to 9 days is followed by natural fermentation, without the addition of yeast or oenological inputs. Ageing for 15 to 16 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new, brings complexity and finesse.
The wine's elegant structure, freshness and mineral tension flatter the palate. The finish is silky, with a long aftertaste. With only 1,500 bottles produced, this rare cuvée deserves to be kept for 2 to 8 years to reveal its full potential.
The estate is located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, just a few meters from the emblematic Domaine de la Romanée Conti and is made up of 3.15 hectares of vines spread over the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Echezeaux. The estate is currently made up of two village appellations, three 1er crus and a grand cru, including the famous Vosne-Romanée “Aux Jachées”, from vines planted just behind Bizot. Currently the estate produces only red wines but parcels of chardonnay are being planted.
