Description
Domaine Dureuil-Janthial's Rully Blanc is an authentic expression of Burgundian Chardonnay. The vines, planted between 1949 and 2007 over a total area of 3.31 hectares, are spread over a number of localities in the commune of Rully, including La Martelle, Chaponnière, La Bergerie and Le Meix Cadot. This diversity of plots gives the wine a unique aromatic complexity.
Vinification is carried out with particular care: the grapes are harvested by hand, followed by direct pressing without crushing. After 48 hours of static settling, the must is transferred to barrels for alcoholic fermentation, 20% of which are new. Each terroir is vinified separately, and the blend is made when the wine is bottled. The wine is aged for 12 months in casks, then 6 months in stainless steel vats, with bottling following the lunar calendar.
This Rully Blanc has a brilliant colour and an expressive nose with aromas of white fruit, citrus fruit and white flowers. On the palate, it has a lovely freshness, a marked minerality and a balanced structure, with a long, elegant finish. Long ageing allows this wine to age well, revealing more complex notes and greater depth over time.
