This 0.25-hectare parcel of Champans is situated below the village of Volnay. The soil is composed of clay mixed with many pebbles, making it well-drained. In the bottle, this translates into a fruity wine, with a cherry nose and a rich attack. It can be enjoyed young if you want to rediscover the fruit and brightness typical of the appellation, or you can let it age in your cellar for fifteen years or so to enjoy its mellow tannins and velvety texture.
Pierrick only produces around 1,500 bottles a year.
