Domaine Alvina Pernot
Created in 2018 in Puligny-Montrachet, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the Alvina Pernot estate is the result of a personal project by Alvina Pernot, granddaughter of Paul Pernot, founder of the iconic family estate. Accompanied by her husband Philippe, she has produced wines since her first vintage that assert their own identity, focused on precision, freshness and the purest expression of Burgundy's terroirs.
The estate now cultivates several plots in Puligny-Montrachet, acquired in 2018 and then in 2020. Located at altitude, these vines benefit from ideal conditions for preserving the natural tension of the grapes and producing balanced, finely crafted wines. The predominantly limestone soils impart a marked mineral signature, characteristic of the great Chardonnays of Burgundy.
Some of the cuvées are also made from carefully selected grapes purchased from the Pernot family's estates, particularly in the Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault terroirs, as well as prestigious appellations such as Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru and Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. The estate is gradually buying back several of the family's vineyards. It also produces a Meursault Premier Cru from vines planted in 2004 and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru from old vines aged between 50 and 65 years. The estate's only red wine, a Santenay, is made from Pinot Noir planted on the upper slopes, facing south.
Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, Alvina and Philippe favour gentle and precise methods. The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates to preserve their integrity. Vertical pressing limits oxidation and produces juices of great purity. The estate's wines are distinguished by their integrity, freshness and ageing potential, making the Alvina Pernot estate a rising star among the great white wines of Puligny-Montrachet.
