An accessible, elegant red, ideal for drinking today.
Domaine Boigey Frères' Bourgogne Rouge 2020 is a confidential cuvée made from two plots in Vosne-Romanée, in the “Roger” and “Croix-Blanche” districts. The Pinot Noir vines, which are on average 40 years old, benefit from low yields, favouring a natural concentration of aromas. The grapes are harvested by hand and completely destemmed. A pre-fermentation cold maceration lasting 7 to 9 days is followed by natural fermentation, without the addition of yeast or oenological inputs. Ageing for 12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new, brings complexity and finesse. The wine has a brilliant ruby colour, an expressive nose of fresh red fruit and a light, fruity palate with supple, silky tannins. Easy to drink young, this Bourgogne Rouge is a fine introduction to the estate's elegant, authentic style.
The estate is located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, just a few meters from the emblematic Domaine de la Romanée Conti and is made up of 3.15 hectares of vines spread over the communes of Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Echezeaux. The estate is currently made up of two village appellations, three 1er crus and a grand cru, including the famous Vosne-Romanée “Aux Jachées”, from vines planted just behind Bizot. Currently the estate produces only red wines but parcels of chardonnay are being planted.
