Description

The Pommard 1er Cru “Clos de Verger” from Domaine Fernand & Laurent Pillot comes from a plot ideally situated on the outskirts of the village, facing due south. This clay-limestone terroir promotes optimal ripening of the Pinot Noir and a precise expression of the fruit.

The estate cultivates 63 ares on this rare climat, close to a monopole, with vines averaging about 40 years of age. This diversity brings complexity and balance to the wine.

On the palate, this Pommard stands out for its elegant profile, marked by aromas of red berries, redcurrant, and delicately spicy nuances. The palate is refined and harmonious, with silky tannins and a subtle structure.

Accessible after a few years, it reaches its peak between 5 and 15 years, developing more complex notes. A precise and refined Pommard, in contrast to the appellation’s more powerful styles.
