Description
The Messager Germain family’s Fixin “Meix Trouhans” is one of the estate’s most exclusive cuvées. Produced from a micro-parcel of just 334 m² planted with Chardonnay in 2015, this rare white wine reveals a little-known facet of the Fixin appellation, traditionally renowned for its red wines.
Located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, the plot benefits from a particularly favorable environment. Bordered by a long stone wall that stores heat throughout the day, it enjoys a unique microclimate that allows it to reach maturity about a week before the estate’s other vines. This early ripening contributes to the wine’s richness and balance.
The clay-limestone terroir of “Meix Trouhans” combines depth, tension, and mineral expression. Long blended with those of the Fixin “Côté Jardin,” the grapes from this plot are now vinified separately to highlight their distinct identity.
The wine is distinguished by a full-bodied and generous palate, supported by a beautiful mineral backbone. Aromas of ripe white fruit, delicate flowers, and fresh stone are expressed with precision and elegance. Richer and more structured than the Fixin “Côté Jardin,” the Fixin “Meix Trouhans” offers a unique expression of Burgundy Chardonnay, combining character, freshness, and depth in an extremely limited production.
