Description

This Italian red wine comes from the steep cliffs of Mount Etna in Sicily and is produced by a very promising young talent, Nicolo Grippaldi. Doméniche di Teo is 76% Nerollo Mascalese and 24% Nero d'Avola.

On tasting, the wine opens beautifully with notes of ripe cherries, thyme, rosemary and rose petals. The tannins are fine and tight, and the finish is both mineral and complex.

A fine wine that reflects both the Sicilian terroir and Niccolo Grippaldi's personality. We recommend aging this bottle in your cellar for 5 years to allow it to express its full potential.

Domaine Nicolo Grippaldi

Nicolo Grippaldi is Etna's newest and brightest wine star. The young winemaker owns 2.63 hectares of vines, which he planted in 2015 with the local Sicilian grape varieties Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese. His vineyard is located in the small village of Gagliano Castelferrato, at the foot of Mount Etna, where the viges are 651 metres above sea level to the south-east. Nicolo is a man who wants to express the terroir in his wines, so he works 100% biodynamically in both vineyard and cellar.

Its elegant, pure and authentic wines have already caused a sensation on the gastronomic scene, where they can be found in Michelin 3-star restaurants such as Enrico Bartolini in Milan and Le Mirazur in Menton in the south of France. The latter was voted best restaurant in the world in 2019 and 2020.
