Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson's Saint-Romain ‘Sous la Velle’ comes from an emblematic parcel of vines located at an altitude of 370 metres, below the village of Saint-Romain le haut. These 60-year-old vines, planted on the scree of the Saint-Romain marl, draw their resources from the limestone soil, giving this wine an exceptional minerality. Covering 2.5 hectares, this parcel has made a major contribution to the appellation's reputation.
This white Saint-Romain seduces with its frank attack, marked by aromas of preserved lemon. On the palate, it reveals remarkable density and richness, surpassing that of its peers. The Henri & Gilles Buisson estate, located in Saint-Romain, is a benchmark in the Burgundy wine world. The Buisson family has been cultivating vines with passion since 1758. In 1947, Henri Buisson, a pioneer of the estate, founded the independent vineyard, which today extends to almost 20 hectares. His grandsons, Franck and Frédérick, carry on the family legacy with a strong commitment to biodynamics and eco-responsibility. The estate, certified organic since 2009, exports its wines all over the world, testifying to the richness and diversity of their terroirs.
